After School Program
Our after-school program combines homework support, personalized academic practice, and reading time in a welcoming environment. Take a look below to see how students spend their afternoons at IQ!

Homework Support
Teachers complete a homework checklist each day to keep track of assignments and help ensure nothing is overlooked. For middle school students, we review Schoology, Google Classroom, PowerSchool, and other school portals together to check assignments, due dates, and missing work. During homework time, teachers explain difficult concepts, guide students through problems, and check their work. We encourage students to understand their answers and make corrections, rather than simply finish the assignment. Any unfinished work or areas needing follow-up are noted on the checklist.
Math & English Practice
After completing homework, students continue learning through IQ workbooks and additional practice suited to their level. Math practice strengthens key concepts and problem-solving skills, while English activities develop grammar and reading comprehension. Teachers review incorrect answers with students and help them understand where they went wrong. We adjust practice to reinforce skills that need more attention and provide an appropriate challenge. This consistent practice helps students build a stronger academic foundation beyond their daily school assignments.

Test Preparation & Review
When a school test is coming up, teachers review study guides and class materials with students to identify the topics they need to practice. We also create practice tests based on the material covered in their upcoming school tests. Students complete these pre-tests to check their understanding and find areas that need more attention. Teachers then review incorrect answers, explain difficult concepts, and provide additional practice as needed. This support is included in our after-school program.
Reading Time
For younger students who are still learning to read, teachers lead a shared reading time lasting about 20 minutes. Children sit together and listen as their teacher reads a book aloud, helping them become familiar with words and follow a story. This time gives students a chance to enjoy books even before they can read independently. It’s a warm, engaging part of their afternoon at IQ.

Sign In-Out
We use a digital check-in system to track student arrivals. Parents receive check-in notifications, and students are released only to authorized individuals. This helps us maintain accurate attendance records and provides families with peace of mind throughout the day.

Homework Checklist
Our daily homework checklist tracks completed, unfinished, and missing assignments, with notes when additional follow-up is needed. It helps students stay organized and gives teachers and families a clear picture of homework progress.

IQ Money
Our IQ Money reward system encourages students to stay engaged and take pride in their efforts. Students earn IQ Money for positive learning habits and participation, making everyday progress more rewarding while building motivation and responsibility.
